A communications and public relations professional with over 16 years of management experience, Maria Arza has provided crisis management and public relations support for corporations such as McDonalds, AT&T, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.
As Spokesperson and Press Officer for the Illinois Attorney General, Maria coordinated and developed campaign and ethnic communications strategies for the entire 21-division office. As the McDonalds International Account Supervisor at Golin/Harris Communications, she designed, developed, and executed new programs and provided multilingual public relations, youth and adult marketing, and crisis management support.
Maria served as Consumer Affairs Director for AT&T for 5 years, directing all public relations and media relations efforts. She was the Multicultural Markets Spokesperson and liason to community, business, and other leaders of the diversified community. During this time Maria was awarded AT&T’s PRO award, the 1999 Amigo Eagle Award from the Natnl. Association of Publications, and five High Five Awards from colleagues for designing exceptional media relations programs.
A graduate of Marquette University, Maria holds a Master's Degree in International Relations from the University of Chicago. She has also studied at the University Complutense in Madrid, the United Nations and in the former Soviet Union.
